My name is Vera Buckner, a lifelong native of Courtland, Alabama, and a longtime resident of Decatur. My passion for cleaning didn’t begin when I started a business—it began many years ago at home, under the watchful eye of my mother, Patty Mosley.

My mother believed that a clean home was about more than appearance. It was about pride, discipline, comfort, and paying attention to the smallest details. And when Mama said clean, she meant CLEAN!

She taught me everything from washing down the kitchen sink with Clorox to making sure the kitchen floor was properly swept and cleaned. When it came to the bathroom, I like to say I earned my “degree in toilet cleaning.” I learned to clean a bathroom from top to bottom, making sure no corner, fixture, or detail was overlooked.

Making the bed every morning was not optional in our house. And sitting on top of those freshly made covers? You better think twice!

Once a month, our regular cleaning turned into a full deep-cleaning day. That meant getting down to the baseboards and tackling the areas that people often forget. My mother’s standards were high, and her home reflected them. Even while caring for a family of six, she kept an immaculate home.

When my mother passed away on March 24, 2024, I found myself thinking even more about everything she had taught me. Of all the lessons and memories she left behind, I am especially proud of the work ethic, attention to detail, and love of a clean home that she passed down to me.

Today, I carry those lessons with me into every cleaning job I do.

When I walk into a client’s home or business, I’m not simply there to clean. I’m carrying on my mother’s legacy. The same standards she expected from me are the standards I bring to my clients: take pride in your work, pay attention to the details, and don’t call the job finished until it’s truly clean.

That’s why my motto says it all:

“You haven’t seen clean until you put a Buck(ner) on it!”
